ODFW - ROSEBURG, Ore. – The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife is looking for a volunteer site host at the Canyonville winter steelhead acclimation site. The site is located in the City of Canyonville along lower Canyon Creek, a tributary of the South Umpqua River. Site hosts typically assist ODFW biologists in winter steelhead brood stock collection, monitoring the fish trapping site and reporting observations to the biologists, fish rearing, cleaning and maintaining the site, and interacting with the public. The position is available now until the end of April. While start dates are flexible, preference is given to candidates that can start by February. Top candidates must pass a fingerprint based criminal history check, a driver's record check and other requirements including following ODFW policies and procedures. Hosts must have their own RV.
