OPRD release - Oregon Parks and Recreation Department awarded four grants totaling $295,195 for projects across the state that create or preserve memorials to veterans or wars. Funded projects include: A monument in Stanfield’s Veterans Memorial Park; Creation of the Oregon Airport Memorial Gateway in Florence; A Gold Star Memorial in Ryan J Hill Memorial Park in Keizer; A Revolutionary War Memorial within the Beaverton Veterans Memorial Park. This competitive grant program was created by the Oregon legislature in 2005. Applicants must be local or tribal governments and the memorial must be on public land.
