Journalists and state ethics officials have urged Gov. Tina Kotek, shown at a news conference, to veto a bill they say would seriously undermine Oregon's public meeting law and allow secret government meetings.

Professional journalist groups and Oregon news publishers are calling on Gov. Tina Kotek to veto a bill the Legislature passed last month that the groups, along with government ethics watchdogs, say would erode the state public meetings law.
