Description
Vancouver police shot and killed a man Saturday night who they said was armed with a gun.
Officers were called just before midnight to a disturbance at a home on Northeast 46th Street near 132nd Place.
The caller reported that a man was outside the home pointing a gun at a woman inside, and said that he had fired at least one round.
Officers said the armed man confronted them when they arrived at the scene. Two officers shot the man, according to the Vancouver Police Department. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The two officers and another who witnessed the shooting were put on critical incident leave.
Police have not released the deceased man’s identity.
The Washington State Office of Independent Investigations will investigate the shooting.
