Lane Co. Sheriff's release - UPDATE to ongoing investigation - Deputies have developed probable cause to arrest the involved male for Assault in the 4th Degree, Menacing, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, and Harassment. Information regarding his identity remains limited, however he is believed to frequent the Glenwood area.  During the incident, a group of mothers with children were waiting for a school bus at the location. They confronted a suspicious male, who then menaced one of the victims with a handgun. A victim attempted to grab the gun, and he then either pocketed the firearm or a victim held on to it before it fell to the ground. The victims recovered the firearm as the suspect punched and hit the victims with a backpack and other items. An area resident then hit the suspect with a baseball bat, and he fled to a nearby residence. He is believed to have left in an unidentified vehicle before deputies arrived. Further investigation has revealed that the involved firearm did not fall out of his backpack as stated in the original news release.  Anyone with information regarding the suspect’s identity or whereabouts is asked to contact the Lane County Sheriff’s Office at 541-682-4150 Opt. 1. Please reference LCSO Case #26-0192.
