UO release - EUGENE, Ore. – All-American power hitter Elon Butler is transferring to Oregon, coach Melyssa Lombardi announced Wednesday. Butler, from San Jose, Calif., helped Cal earn three straight NCAA Tournament bids as the Golden Bears advanced to the Regional Final in both 2023 and 2025. She will be a senior for the Ducks in 2026. Playing both in the infield and the outfield, Butler posted some impressive numbers in three seasons in Berkeley: 37 home runs, 112 RBI, 157 hits, 25 doubles and 28 stolen bases. She is a .328 career hitter with a .621 slugging percentage. Butler was an NFCA All-America second team honoree as a sophomore in 2024. That season, she led Cal and ranked second in the Pac-12 in home runs with 17. She was fourth in the conference in slugging percentage (.760) and sixth in RBI (44), while hitting .351 Butler hit three home runs with seven RBI in the Oregon series that year, driving in a career-high six runs against the Ducks on March 8, 2024. Last season, she hit .361 with 10 home runs and 37 RBI. She scored a career-high 46 runs and led the Bears with 16 stolen bases. "I am impressed with Elon's power at the plate," said Lombardi. "She can change the game with one swing. She has faced elite pitching her entire career and has excelled. She can turn a single into a double with her ability to run. I also like her athleticism and versatility on defense. Elon's a competitor and will be a great addition to Version 8."
