The Oregon Duck football team, before what was described as the “biggest crowd ever” to crowd into Autzen Stadium at Eugene, gave their fans something to cheer about with a 32-31 Big 10 Conference win over visiting Ohio State, Saturday night. While the gate attendance might show 60,129 fans entered the stadium, a national audience on NBC-TV added to the numbers as both teams came to the game unbeaten, Ohio State ranked No. 2 and Oregon ranked No. 3. The Buckeyes, chosen by most to win, came away disappointed. The Ducks (3-0, 6-0) travel to West Lafayette, Indiana to play Purdue (0-3, 1-5), Friday, Oct. 18th, 5 p.m. Fox Sports.

Oregon State’s football team dropped a collegiate game at Reno, to Nevada (0-1, 3-4), 42-37, Saturday. The Beavers (0-0, 4-2) host UNLV (2-0, 5-1) on Saturday, Oct. 19th, 7 p.m., Reser Stadium, Corvallis, televised on The CW.

Oregon State’s volleyball team beat visiting San Francisco, 3-2 in a WCC match Saturday at Gill Coliseum, Corvallis. The Beavers (2-3, 4-11) play at Washington State on Thursday, Oct. 17, 7 p.m.

Oregon’s volleyball team picked up a 3-2 Big Ten Conference win Sunday over visiting Washington at Matthew Knight Arena, Eugene. The Ducks (5-1, 13-2) play at Wisconsin, Madison, WI, Friday, Oct. 18, 5 p.m.

Oregon’s cross-country teams were both second at the Bill Dellinger Invitational, Friday, at the Springfield Golf Club. BYU won the men’s 8K race with a perfect 15-points. Oregon was second with 97. Elliott Cook led the Ducks in 11th (23:21.3). Utah won the women’s 6K race (25-pts.), the Ducks took second with 53 and Oregon State fourth with 135. Maddy Elmore led Oregon with a first-place finish (19:40.2). Former Junction City HS runner Anika Thompson was eighth overall (20:13.0). Oregon next runs at the Big 10 Championships, Savoy, IL, Nov. 1st.

Oregon State’s women were 7th overall in the 25-team Charles Bowles Willamette Invitational Cross-Country meet at Bush Pasture Park, Salem, Saturday. St. Mary’s (CA) won with 56-points, the Beavers tallied 215. Senior Sydney Partyka led the Beavers in sixth place (17:21.6) on the 5K course. OSU also ran at the Bill Dellinger Invite, Springfield, Friday. Oregon State was fourth overall. Kate Laurent led OSU with an 11th place finish in 17:09.1. Oregon State next runs at the WCC Championships, Nov. 2, Lodi, CA.

Oregon State’s women’s soccer team won a WCC match at San Diego, 3-1, Saturday. The Beavers (4-0-1, 6-6-1) host Loyola Marymount, Wednesday, Oct. 23, 7 p.m., Paul Lorenz Field, Corvallis.

Oregon’s women tied visiting Michigan, 1-1, in a Big 10 soccer match, Ed Pape Field, Eugene, Sunday. The Ducks (1-5-2, 5-8-2) play Nebraska at Lincoln, NE, Thursday, Oct. 17, 5 p.m., televised on B1G+.
