Make it three-in-a-row for the No. 4 ranked Oregon Ducks football team. Saturday, Oregon opened defense of their Big 10 Championship of a year ago with a 34-14 win over Northwestern (0-1, 1-2) at Evanston, IL. The Ducks will play a non-conference in-state rivalry game against Oregon State (0-3), Saturday, Sept. 20, noon, Autzen Stadium, Eugene. The game will be televised on the Big Ten Network. It was scheduled for FOX, but they dropped it.

Lightning in and around Lubbock, TX Saturday couldn’t stop the OSU Beavers from taking the field against No. 21 Texas Tech (3-0), Saturday in a collegiate football game, but when the flashes in the sky ended, it was the favored Red Raiders who won the game, 45-14. Oregon State lost its third straight, following a weather delay in the first-quarter while a storm passed over head. Next up is the Oregon Ducks (3-0), 40-miles south on Hwy. 99W at Eugene, Saturday, Sept. 20, noon, in what should be a loud Autzen Stadium for a nationally televised game on the Big Ten Network.
