UO release - EUGENE, Ore. - The Oregon football team earned the No. 9 spot in the first College Football Playoff rankings release of the 2025 season on Tuesday.  UO is one of three Big Ten teams in the initial CFP top 12, along with No. 1 Ohio State and No. 2 Indiana, and one of seven in the top 25 with No. 19 USC, No. 20 Iowa, No. 21 Michigan and No. 23 Washington also included.  Oregon will have opportunities to get wins against three current CFP top-25 teams in the final month of the regular season. The Ducks will travel to Iowa this Saturday (12:30 p.m. PT, CBS) as they put the nation's longest active road winning streak (10 games) on the line, and will host USC on Nov. 22 before closing the regular season at Washington on Nov. 29.  It is the 12th consecutive CFP top-10 ranking for Oregon, which was No. 1 in every release of the rankings in 2024. The Ducks have appeared in each of the last 25 CFP top-25 rankings dating back to 2020.  Oregon (7-1, 4-1 Big Ten) has been one of the nation's most balanced teams in 2025, joining Indiana and Texas Tech as the only teams in the top 10 for scoring offense (5th, 41.3 PPG), total offense (9th, 483.9 YPG), scoring defense (6th, 13.5 PPG) and total defense (4th, 239.4 YPG).  The Ducks have also been one of the nation's top teams in terms of explosive plays on both sides of the ball, ranking third nationally in plays of 20-plus yards (61) while leading the country in fewest plays of 20-plus yards allowed (13).  Oregon is currently No. 6 in both the Associated Press and the US LBM coaches polls.
