Description
The West Salem Titans (1-0) hope to build on their season-opening victory when they welcome the Sheldon Irish (0-1) in a Week 2 Class 6A Special District 1 showdown Friday night. West Salem downed Sprague 26-16 last week, while Sheldon aims to rebound from a lopsided 51-7 loss at Lake Oswego. Sheldon’s senior signal-caller Micah Ritchie-Tuisue connected with junior Cam Thomas on a 40-yard touchdown for the Irish’s lone score last week, while running back Warren McKillop was quieted in the road loss. Sheldon, which dominated last year’s head-to-head with a convincing 42-3 victory, will face a potential two-quarterback system from West Salem featuring Jerett Peil and Jacob Sanderson. Opening kickoff is set for 7 p.m. PT on Friday, September 12 with a live TV broadcast on NFHS Network.
