Celebrating a milestone in Indigenous rights!
Today, June 15, 2025, marks the second anniversary of the landmark U.S. Supreme Court decision upholding the constitutionality of the Indian Child Welfare Act , established in 1978. The ICWA was enacted to address the disproportionate removal of Native American children from their families and communities by state child welfare systems. This anniversary is a time for reflection on the law's impact and continued challenges in protecting Native children and promoting tribal sovereignty.
We must continue to stand in solidarity to advance ICWA and tribal sovereignty. #ICWADay #ProtectICWA #NativeFamilies #IndigenousJustice #TribalSovereignty #ICWAVictory #IndianChildWelfareAct #NativeRights #ICWADays2025 #MMIP
