Portland is looking at a long string of hot days starting with 90 degrees Thursday and heating up near 100 Friday and Saturday. Oregonian file photo.

Portland’s high temperature only made it to 82 degrees Wednesday (unofficially), and that’s likely the last chance of seeing temps in the 80s during the next five or more days.

8/21/25 - LCSO Case 25-3987 Motorcycle rider dies in single vehicle crash On August 21st at about 6 p.m., Lane County Sheriff’s deputies responded with fire personnel to a single vehicle crash in the 39100 block of Upper Camp Creek Road, Springfield. The vehicle, a 2006 Suzuki SV650 motorcycle, left the roadway while negotiating a curve and struck a guardrail. The rider was the only person on the motorcycle and was killed in the crash. The deceased was identified as William Sean Yoder, 57, of Springfield.
