Description
It was a “sealed bid” sale of three islands on the Umpqua River in Western Douglas Co. and the sale went higher, much higher than expected. The minimum bid was $24,500, but the winner came in at double the asking price. The sale price and ownership will become public after the transaction closes in July. The three islands total about 20-low lying acres between Reedsport and Scottsburg. They were previously owned by Roseburg Forest Products and are zoned Estuarine Conservation, which limits development.
