Join a free Bird Song Walk hosted by the Bird Alliance of Oregon.A Western tanager in the Deschutes National Forest, Lake County, Oregon, was photographed by Scott Carpenter.A common yellowthroat (Geothlypis trichas), a small warbler known for its bright yellow throat and black facial mask, was photographed by Scott Carpenter in Clark County, Washington.A Lazuli bunting, a small, finchlike, stocky songbird with a cone-shaped bill and gently sloping forehead, was photograped by Scott Carpenter in Clark County, Washington.

Spring brings migratory birds like lazuli buntings back to Oregon. Not sure if you can identify an orange-red headed Western tanager or recognize that a “witchety-witchety-witchety” song is that of a common yellowthroat?
