Clarence V. “Rusty” Russell, who worked as a Santa performer at a New York Christmas attraction, was arrested and charged in connection with an alleged online child sex crime investigation.

A man who has spent years portraying Santa Claus at a popular Upstate New York holiday attraction is facing felony charges after police said he allegedly tried to arrange sexual encounters with minors through online communications. Authorities arrested Clarence V. “Rusty” Russell, 75, on Sept. 5.
