The King Tides are almost here, with the first round happening November 5th-7th!
These extreme high tides occur when the moon’s orbit comes closest to the earth, the earth’s orbit is closest to the sun, and the sun, moon and earth are in direct alignment, increasing their gravitational pull on the tides.
The Oregon King Tides Project is a community science driven project that uses photo submissions to help document the impacts of #kingtides on our coastal communities and help us plan for future conditions.
