Black ski gloves, multiple cords with tied loops, unused condoms, a blade and small flashlight were among the items seized from Gene Arnold McLenithan's Salem home when FBI agents raided it with a search warrant in March, according to an affidavit.

A blinding headlamp beam and a blade slicing through their tent’s fabric awakened two sisters camping along the Rainforest Trail in Oregon’s Siuslaw National Forest.
