A 16-year-old boy accused of murder in an early Jan. 17 fatal shooting in the back lot of this Hood River apartment complex was released from jail pending trial late last week after a judge found Hood River County District Attorney Matthew Ellis had failed to share evidence with the teen's defense lawyer as ordered.

An Oregon district attorney faced a rare rebuke from a judge in the case of a 16-year-old accused of murder in the January shooting of another man at a Hood River apartment complex.
