Description

Tragedy struck at Silver Lake Elementary School in Bend on Thursday, Oct. 15, 2026.

The 16-year-old burst into the Bend elementary school on Thursday and unloaded about 15 rounds from the “long gun” he was carrying — killing, in a flash, three young students and a 25-year-old school staffer. A teacher threw her cell phone at the teen and tackled him in a desperate struggle to gain control of his gun.
