Description

Clinching an NWAC men’s soccer playoff spot continues to elude Southwestern Oregon.  The Lakers fell at Chemeketa, Saturday, Salem, 5-2.  One match remains in the regular season, Wednesday, Oct. 29, home to Lane, 1:30 p.m. Lane (7-1-1, 9-1-1) is tied with Rogue (7-1-1, 9-2-2) for first-place in the NWAC South Region.  The Lakers (4-4-1, 6-4-1) stand third.  SWOCC’s volleyball team got a split at home over the weekend.  On Friday, the Lakers beat the team they are tied with for third-place Clackamas (8-4, 15-7), 3-2, but on Saturday, Southwestern fell to visiting seventh-place Chemeketa (4-8, 10-14), 3-2.  Southwestern (8-4, 19-6) hosts second-place Linn-Benton (10-2, 19-5), Friday, Oct. 31, 6 p.m.  The Lakers’ women’s soccer team (1-10-1, 1-11-2) ended the regular season with a 1-0 win over visiting Rogue (0-9-2, 0-11-2), Saturday, Coos Bay.
