With two matches to go in the regular season, Southwestern Oregon’s men’s soccer team is on the verge of clinching a playoff spot in the upcoming NWAC playoffs after winning Saturday, 2-1, over visiting Klamath. The third-place Lakers (6-3-1, 4-3-1) finish up with Chemeketa, Saturday, Oct. 25, noon, and at Lane, Wednesday, Oct. 29, 1:30 p.m. Lane (6-1-1, 8-1-1) is in first place in the South Region and Rogue (8-2-2, 6-1-1) is No. 2. Both have already clinched playoff spots. SWOCC’s volleyball team is tied for third-place in the NWAC South after sweeping two opponents on the road Friday & Saturday. On Friday, the Lakers won at Clark, 3-0 and on Friday, Southwestern beat Mt. Hood, 3-0, at Gresham. SWOCC (7-2, 18-5) plays at second-place Linn-Benton (17-5,8-2), Friday, Oct. 31, 6 p.m.
