Southwestern Oregon’s softball team lost its opening game at the NWAC Championships to Centralia, 5-3, at Portland’s Delta Park. In the consolation bracket, the Lakers (23-7, 38-10). bounced back and beat Yakima Valley, 7-0. That sets up a game with Mt. Hood (21-9, 35-10), Friday, May 16, 11 a.m. SWOCC’s baseball team (19-17, 24-22) is in the NWAC Super Regionals at Tacoma, WA and will play Edmonds (19-11, 25-18) in a single-elimination game at noon, Friday, May 16. Winner advances to play Tacoma in a best of three series.
