Southwestern Oregon’s baseball team split with South Conference leader Linn-Benton (22-6, 30-6) in an NWAC doubleheader at home, Coos Bay, Saturday. The Lakers won the opener, 20-12, but fell in the nightcap, 13-4 (7). Fifth-place SWOCC (11-17, 19-20) hosts fourth-place Mt. Hood (12-12, 18-14), Wednesday, April 22, 1 & 4p on the Coos Bay Campus. The Laker softball team won three-out-of-four in Washington State. On Friday, SWOCC split with Centralia, winning the opener, 6-1, but falling in the second-game, 2-1. On Saturday, at Gray’s Harbor, Southwestern swept, 13-2 (6) & 10-1 in the second game. Now in third-place, the Lakers (16-4, 27-5) host second-place Mt. Hood (15-3, 31-5), Saturday, April 25, noon & 2p, on the Coos Bay campus. Lower Columbia leads the South Conference (18-0 & 33-2).
