A strengthening El Niño is expected to play a major role in Oregon’s weather over the coming months, increasing the likelihood of warmer-than-normal temperatures and potentially bringing a wetter winter to parts of the state, according to the latest outlook from the National Weather Service’s Climate Prediction Center that was released Thursday.
