Description

On March 26th, a Lane County Sheriff’s deputy began following up on a report of a stolen firearm. The case soon grew into a larger investigation, and a Lane County Sheriff’s detective became involved.  On April 17th, deputies arrested Jeffrey Allen Bragg, 54, of Eugene, for Theft in the 1st Degree and lodged him at the Lane County Jail.  The investigation soon expanded, however. Detectives suspect that Bragg had been stealing firearms and reselling them for an extended period of time, often representing the sales as legitimate to unsuspecting buyers.  The Lane County Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone who has purchased a firearm from Bragg over the years to contact the Sheriff’s Office. Anyone who purchased a firearm from Bragg may be in possession of a firearm that is reported as stolen.  If you have ever purchased a firearm from Bragg, please contact the Lane County Sheriff’s Office at 541-682-4141 and reference case #25-1802.
