PUBLIC NOTICE:
The Southern Coos Health District will hold its Regular Monthly Board meeting at 5 p.m. on Thursday, February 26, 2026 to hear reports for operations during the month of January, consider the new Quality Performance Improvement Plan (QAPI), consider recent revisions to Medical Staff Rules & Regulations, and hear the results of the annual HIPAA Risk Assessment.
The meeting will open at 5 p.m. and immediately go into Executive Session Under ORS 162.660 (2) (i) and 192.660 ( 8) to review and evaluate the performance of an officer, employee or staff member if the person does not request an open meeting. No decisions are made in Executive Session. The meeting will conclude with a second Executive Session under ORS 192.660(2)(c) to consider matters pertaining to the function of the medical staff of a public hospital licensed pursuant to ORS 441.015 Licensing of facilities and health maintenance organizations.
Due to current hospital construction, this meeting is open to the public at Adapt, LLC, 1010 1st Street, Bandon, Oregon, in the 2nd floor conference room. The recorded regular meeting open session will be available to view within 72-hours via the Southern Coos Hospital YouTube Channel at https://www.youtube.com/@southerncooshospitalhealth7797

On April 6th, 2026, at around 2:30 PM, a Coos County Deputy observed a female, later identified as Martha Busby (44), throwing bags of trash from Cape Arago Highway, on to the property of Bay Point Landing. The Deputy began an investigation, and as a result, Martha Busby was cited for Criminal Mischief- 3, Offensive Littering, and Criminal Trespass -2. “Police action is not indicative of guilt. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.”
