Wednesday's in-season call with NMFS and the State of Oregon, to discuss Oregon's (SOF) recreational ocean salmon fisheries is cancelled.  For the 2026 recreational non-mark selective coho fishery from Cape Falcon to Humbug Mountain, the estimated catch through September 20, 2026, is approximately 22,250 coho salmon, or 87% of the 25,700 quota. The expected coho salmon catch for Saturday September 26, 2026, which was previously adopted and remains open as scheduled, does not provide sufficient balance to add any additional days to the fishery.  PREVIOUS ACTION TAKEN:  Effective Saturday, September 26, 2026, from 12:01 a.m. through September 26, 2026, at 11:59 p.m., for the ocean recreational fishery from Cape Falcon to Humbug Mountain, retention of coho salmon is allowed, with a daily bag limit of two salmon (no fin clip requirement). Beginning Sunday, September 27, 2026, the season remains open through October 31, 2026, all salmon, except coho salmon, with a daily bag limit of two salmon.
