On Wednesday at 1:50 p.m. a winter storm watch was issued by the National Weather Service valid from Thursday 11 p.m. until Saturday 11 a.m. for South Central Oregon Cascades and Siskiyou Mountains and Southern Oregon Cascades.

"Heavy snow possible. Total snow accumulations between 12 and 24 inches possible. Winds could gust as high as 45 mph," explains the weather service. "Heaviest snow is expected late this afternoon through tonight followed by light to moderate snow showers are expected on Thursday. Then additional heavy snow is expected Friday morning through Friday evening."
