Harvest days can start early at Abacela Winery in Roseburg.A glass of Grateful Vineyard's sparkling pinot noir is a fine way to salute the 2025 harvest.No matter how chilly it is outside, it is always warm and cozy inside Abacela's tasting room.The view from Grateful Vineyard on the north side of Mount Hood is particularly spectacular on a sunny day.Lange Estate Winery is a perfect place to pull up a chair and enjoy an October sunset.The gardens at Brooks Wine are aEnjoy the view at Grateful Vineyard, but wait until they are made into wine before enjoying the grapes.Greg Jones, Abacela's CEO, stands in front of a hillside of colors as grape vines prepare for a long winter's snooze.Sheep forage the vineyard floor at Antiquum Farm.Antiquum Farm's tasting room in Junction City is one of the most beautiful in all of the Willamette Valley.Guests enjoy wine and sunshine outside of Troon's Farm Stand.Claire Jarreau, head winemaker, christens the 2025 harvest at Brooks Wine in Amity.Lange Estate Winery sits high above Dundee in the northern Willamette Valley.Troon Vineyard in Grants Pass sits high above the Applegate River in the Siskiyou Mountains.

Harvest in wine country, which typically begins in September and runs through October, represents the intersection of joy and exhaustion. The smell of bubbling ferments fills the air as cellar crews succumb to a goofy sensibility caused by lack of sleep, backbreaking work, carbon dioxide and the feeling a child gets on Christmas Eve.
