Description

BANDON – Everyone is invited to the second-annual Cookies for Santa, a free event for local children ages 0-18, which will be held on Saturday, Dec. 22, from 2-5 p.m. at the Bandon Community Center, 1200 11th St. SW, in Bandon City Park.

The event, organized by Southern Coos Hospital & Health Center Dietary Manager Rita Hamilton and co-sponsored by SCHHC and the City of Bandon, was attended by over 70 children and families last year.

This year promises to be just as fun. Children and parents are invited to frost cookies on site or take them home to decorate to give to Santa on Christmas Eve. There will also be several crafts available, along with face painting, snacks, hot chocolate and cider, a photo booth, and a special visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus, who will read “The Night Before Christmas.”

The event is free to attend, though a donation of canned or non-perishable food is suggested. The food collected will be donated to a local food bank.

To RSVP (to make sure there are enough cookies), please find the event on Facebook and respond there, or call Rita Hamilton at 541-329-9854 or email [email protected].
