Description

Airport release - A look at the first six months of passenger traffic at the Southwest Oregon Regional Airport continues to show slowing; however, the passenger numbers kept their upward trend through July. Total passenger enplanements and deplanements finished just over 1% ahead of the same 6-month time period in 2025.  Growth was driven primarily by continued demand for the airport's seasonal Denver service, which saw an almost 7% increase in the first six months of 2026, while year-round service to San Francisco remained steady with a slight decline. Together, the two routes have helped sustain the airport's multi-year increase in passenger traffic and demonstrate the importance of commercial air service to the South Coast.  Passenger activity is expected to remain strong through the remainder of the Denver service, which operates daily through October. That route, along with the San Francisco route, continues to provide year-round access to United Airlines' extensive domestic and international network.  "Consistent passenger growth reinforces the value of local air service and the convenience it provides to residents, businesses and visitors," said Executive Director Rodger Craddock. "It also strengthens our efforts as we continue working to expand commercial air service opportunities for the South Coast."  Denver service is available through October 24th. San Francisco is year-round. When flying OTH, parking is free, and the lines are short.
