The Coos County Sheriff’s Office was made aware of a new scam circulating in Coos County. Allegedly, there are flyers circulating asking for donations to the Sheriff’s Office and other local agencies to purchase ballistic vests for Officers.  
   
This is a scam, and law enforcement would not solicit funds from citizens in this manner, especially for an item that is issued as part of our staff’s overall safety. When donating or sending money to any entity outside of people known to you, please ensure you research the validity of the event, item, or organization.
