🚨 Scam Alert: Don’t Fall for Fake Warrant Calls! 🚨

We’ve received reports again of scammers impersonating Sheriff’s Office personnel, calling people and claiming they have an active warrant. These fraudsters demand immediate payment—often via gift cards, wire transfers, or cryptocurrency—to “clear” the warrant. This is a SCAM!

Remember: The Coos County Sheriff’s Office will NEVER:
 • Call you demanding money or payment to resolve a warrant.
 • Threaten arrest if you don’t pay right away.
 • Ask for payment through untraceable methods like prepaid cards or Bitcoin.

If you receive such a call:
1 Hang up immediately—do not engage.
 2 Block the number.
3 Contact us directly at (541) 396-7800 to verify any legitimate concerns.
4 Report the scam to the FTC at ftc.gov/complaint.

Stay vigilant and protect yourself and your loved ones. Together, we can stop these criminals!
