VCB release - The Coos Bay-North Bend-Charleston VCB is pleased to report another very successful year of the Holiday Lights Santa's Shuttle! From Thanksgiving to New Year's Eve, the Shuttle transported 5,342 patrons to the Holiday Lights at Shore Acres State Park from the Charleston Marina. This is a record-breaking number with almost 1,000 more patrons than we transported in 2024! To accommodate the increase in patrons, we also added a third bus on Saturday nights mid-way through the run due to the popularity of the shuttle. In 2023, the first year of Santa's Shuttle, we transported 4,113 patrons to the Holiday Lights. In 2024, we transported 4,397 patrons - an increase of 284 riders from the previous year. This year we saw an increase of 945 patrons using the Santa's Shuttle to the Holiday Lights! All of this was made possible by the generous support of the following sponsors in 2025: Gib's RV Superstore; PEAK Credit Union; Best Western Holiday Hotel Coos Bay; Pacific Power; Oregon Pacific Bank; Three Rivers Casino Resort; Sause Bros.; Harmony Homecare; Coos Bay-North Bend Rotary Foundation; NW Natural; Englund Marine. A big thanks to First Student Bus Co and their drivers for the shuttle service and keeping the counts of the patrons who utilized the free transportation to the Holiday Lights. Thank you also to the Charleston Fishing Families for opening their doors to allow shuttle riders to grab a cup of hot cocoa or coffee and stay warm on the chillier nights.
