On 12/01/25 at or about 6:31 p.m. the Curry County Sheriff`s Dispatch received a 911 call from Port Orford resident Ashley Shoop.  Shoop stated that she was mushroom picking in the Humbug area and became lost.  Shoop advised that she was accompanied by Joseph Gish, and Jolene Gish.  The trio advised that they were lost and going in circles in a wooded area around Humbug mountain area for the last hour and a half.      
Sheriff`s Office dispatchers then were able to obtain GPS coordinates from the cell phone data and determined the three were in the Brush Creek area, east of Humbug and U.S. Highway 101.    
After looking at the GPS coordinates obtained from dispatch, Sgt Gray determined that the area was located on Chinook timberlands.     
At or about 7:19 p.m. Sgt Gray and SAR volunteers Patrick McKenzie and Tim Hawkins arrived in the area.     
SAR volunteers Patrick McKenzie and Tim Hawkins quickly located the three subjects white van approximately one mile from the highway.  They then heard voices in the wooded area near the vehicle.  Shortly after all three subjects made it out of the woods to their vehicle unharmed.
