I cannot stop thinking about the article by The Oregonian/OregonLive’s Aimee Green regarding the 34 (and counting) rotting corpses that have been reportedly discovered in subsidized housing units run by Central City Concern and Multnomah County (“‘I know the smell:’ 7 lawsuits say housing provider keeps finding residents’ bodies days or weeks after they died,” Aug. 27). On one side of a door, a resident’s body decomposes in an unairconditioned unit while on the other side of the door, bureaucrats do nothing in the name of honoring “the autonomy of our clients while providing non-invasive security.”
