The Trump administration’s efforts to eliminate the Roadless Rule for our National Forests is just another example of the rampant corruption that is being committed under the guise of a virtuous cause, like bringing down inflation and “draining the swamp,” (“Trump plan could open nearly 2 million protected Oregon acres to development, 45 million in the West,” Aug. 20). I have spent 40 years fighting wildfires and I believe that this action will have the opposite effect on the landscape. Studies show that more roads equal more human caused fires, not less.
