We, the disabled community in America, have had to battle for what we needed to uphold our basic human rights. One result of that battle was the landmark 1999 U.S. Supreme Court decision Olmstead v. L.C., which affirmed the rights of people with disabilities in America to work, live and obtain essential services in their own communities.
