Description
In the short term, I’m glad the U.S. government is propping up Intel, which is Oregon’s largest private employer, (“Trump administration will pay $8.9 billion for stake in Intel,” Aug. 22). The company’s researchers, engineers and manufacturing workers are paid well, contributing taxes that benefit our local economy. They shop, buy homes and otherwise spend a lot of money in our communities.
