Portland’s parks and community centers are where this city comes alive. They’re where my kids learned to ride bikes, where I’ve walked and talked with neighbors and where so many of us have found room to breathe in tough times. After nearly 20 years living in Northeast Portland and running a small business here, I’ve seen again and again how much these public spaces matter.
