Description

At least one person in our area died from hypothermia Feb. 2 during this cold weather. Yet Multnomah and Washington counties closed their cold weather shelters Feb. 5 because the temperature was above 25 degrees with no significant rain or snow, (“2 Portland-area counties will close cold weather shelters Wednesday; 1 will remain open,” Feb. 5). This is an example of the privileged making cruel rules for the less privileged.
