Many rural Oregonians seem to think the Roadless Rule was dreamed up by eggheaded urban environmentalists with no understanding of rural life. The Roadless Rule, seen from this perspective, impedes fire fighters, destroys logging jobs, kills tax revenues and interferes with fishing and hunting, (“Trump plan could open nearly 2 million protected Oregon acres to development, 45 million in the West,” Aug. 18). Reality is more complex.
