Description

As Portland City Council prepares to vote today on a rental software ban, itβs important to understand what this policy would do (βPortland council resurrects proposal to ban rent-setting algorithms,β Nov. 12). Even with a late amendment carving out small housing providers, it would still prohibit basic tools used every day to understand the market, make independent decisions and keep rents stable. At a time when Portland faces a significant housing shortage, this approach risks making the problem worse.
