Description
The proposed transfer of the franchise agreement between Zenith Energy and I Squared Capital being force-fed to the Portland City Council is another example of the city facilitating corporate deals with sleight-of-hand tactics, pressure politics and disregard for public interests. The City Council must stand up to Zenith Energy’s assault on our local democracy and ensure full public transparency. The public knows little about I Squared Capital, a private equity firm, except that it is buying the facilities of a company that broke the law repeatedly in order to expand its operations.
