I am concerned to learn that more than 60% of Oregon’s Public Pension Fund is invested in illiquid alternative assets such as private equity, real estate and hedge funds - triple the national average for public pension systems, (“Oregon’s pension fund bet big on private equity. That could be a problem,” July 21). This strategy, particularly in a volatile market, is simply reckless.
