Am I the only one who thought Portland City Council President Jamie Dunphy’s response to the 95-year-old woman asking him to cover his tattoos in public was unnecessarily harsh? I agree with his underlying argument about not body policing, but he missed an opportunity to respond in a manner that was classy and gracious, (“Portland council president blasts 95-year-old constituent for her ‘small-minded’ tattoo critique,” March 11).
