Since Portland students have gone back to school, there have been at least seven threats of school shootings (“Another Oregon teen is arrested in connection with threat of school shooting, police say,” Sept. 30). These serve as painful reminders of the urgency of addressing gun violence and the fear these threats cause, leaving us in constant anxiety.
