When I read in the news about a lawsuit being filed, I often do research to see who is behind it and who is paying for it. Letter writer Richard Raseley did not mention that his lawsuit against Portland Public Schools is being backed by the Center for Individual Rights, a conservative organization that appears to be committed to eliminating affirmative action, (“Readers respond: PPS’ good intentions leading to discrimination,” Nov. 17).
