The Oregon Legislature is suddenly moving a bill that empowers the Legislature itself to write ballot titles and explanatory statements for all measures referred to voters by the Legislature or placed on the ballot by validated referendum petitions. (Referenda are voter-initiated measures seeking to overturn a law enacted by the Legislature.)
