According to a May 2025 memo from the misnamed Department of Homeland Security, its lawyers have concluded that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers can forcibly enter homes with an administrative warrant, rather than one signed by a judge, (“Whistleblowers expose ICE policy allowing forced entry into homes without judge’s warrant,” Jan. 21). This assertion by DHS and ICE that they are acting legally is false.
